Powerful features for your online groups
Group Email Messaging
Send emails to everyone in a group
All groups and subgroups on Convos have a single group email address that is used to send emails to everyone in a group. This makes it easy to get important news to members quickly and facilitate group discussions. To protect your groups from spam and malicious phishing attempts, non-members are not able to send emails to Convos groups.

Choose from three messaging options
Convos groups and subgroups have three messaging options to choose from: discussion lists, moderated discussion lists, and one-way announcement lists. Discussion lists allow all members to send emails to the group using the group email address whereas announcement lists can only be used by administrators and moderators.
Access the group email archive
Group members can access all group emails by logging into the Convos web application and going into their group's messaging module. Access to this module can be disabled if prefered.
Send & receive group emails from anywhere
All members of the group can receive group emails through the email addresses they sign up with. Whether it's a Gmail™ account or Yahoo!™ Mail account, members can easily get access to messages. If the group is using a discussion list, they can also send emails from any account as well.

Help members send emails responsibly
Email discussion lists can be overwhelming and it's good practice to have members know how to reply to messages responsibly without flooding other members' inboxes. Discussion list emails have helpful links to help members easily reply to the entire group or to the sender.

Your own group interface & branding
All groups on Convos get their own customizable group interface and login page (live example) where you can show off your logo and provide a professional touch to members.
Organize people into subgroups
You can create subgroups for your organization to organize people into committees, project teams, member segments, or any other way you want. Each subgroup has all the features of a regular group so those members can interact separately from the entire organization. We've made the administration of subgroups very easy.
Create custom member profile templates
Set up member profiles for your groups and subgroups to organize member information. Member profiles can be completely customized to match the needs of your group. Profile information can be shared through the group member directory and exported into Excel.
Get new members with a sign up page
Convos groups can enable an optional public member sign up page where group visitors can request to join the group. Administrators will be alerted by email and they can approve or decline requests from those emails.

Set member permissions and titles
A group member can be an administrator, moderator, or a regular member. Administrators have control over all aspects of a group whereas moderators can only access specific areas and functions. Regular members have access to all group areas, but they cannot add new content except for sending messages.

Upload and share files with the group
Members can access and upload files and photos to file repositories in their groups and subgroups. Files can be organized into folders, incorporating the ability to manage various versions of the same file.
Schedule events and send email invites
The schedule module for groups allows administrators and moderators to send event notices and event invites via email. All invites have links so that members can easily reply with their attendence preference, even if they're on a mobile device. RSVP lists can also be printed from the Convos app.

Share important notes and information
Sometimes groups need to share a lot of information with members such as policies, instructions, and notes. The Pages module makes it easy to provide centrally located information that is easy to access and also easy to create.
Poll members via email
Feedback can be hard to get, but we make it easy with the Group Feedback module. Administrators and moderators can send questions or requests to members via email. Members can then simply reply to the emails with no logging in required. Responses can also be made anonymously.

All groups are private for your protection
We try very hard to make Convos a safe place to interact with others. It is a big reason why all groups on Convos are private and all new members must be approved by administrators. Other services with groups that have open membership are almost always targeted by spammers and phishers.
