Frequently Asked Questions
Does Convos cost anything to try?
No. All groups you set up on Convos start off on a free plan which allows you to manage up to 5 members and store up to 50 MB in the Group Files module. There is no expiring trial date and you are not required to enter a credit card until you upgrade the group. You can create as many groups as you like and each group can have an unlimited number of subgroups.
How do I upgrade a group?
To upgrade a group, click the "Upgrade" button located in the upper right corner of the Convos interface. From there, you can change your group's plan or upgrade the group file storage.
Besides upgrading a group, what other upgrades are available?
Groups on a paid plan have the option to increase their storage capacity in increments of 2 GB for an additional $2 per month per increment. In addition, groups on Standard Security can upgrade to Enhanced Security for an additional $10 per month.
What is Enhanced Security?
Enhanced Security is a group upgrade that provides additional security for your group using a 256-bit secure sockets layer (SSL) connection. In addition, uploaded files are encrypted to protect your data.
When am I charged for a group upgrade?
When you first upgrade your group, you will be charged a prorated amount based on the number of days remaining in the current month. Each subsequent month, you will be charged the full price of the plan.
What types of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Once your credit card has been approved, you can use it to upgrade any group where you are an administrator.
Are credit card transactions secure?
Yes. All billing related transactions pass through our secure gateway and we do not store your credit card information on our servers. We use VeriSign's 128-bit encryption certificates to make sure all transaction data is secure.
If I upgrade, is there a long-term commitment?
No. You can downgrade your group at any time. When you downgrade, you will receive a prorated refund based on your actual usage in the current billing period. For example, if you have a Medium group plan and decide to downgrade to the Intro plan in the middle of the month, Convos will refund you for the unused portion of the Medium plan at the time of the downgrade.
Can another group administrator take over a group upgrade?
Yes. If another group administrator decides to replace you as the sponsor, you will receive a refund for the unused portion that you paid for. The new group sponsor will be charged based on the remaining days in the current month.
